April 2012: Fashioning Feathers at the Royal Alberta Museum
This includes the BIOGRAPHY OF A LIE – body jewellery for birds used in the plumage trade. These works adorn museum specimens in a dedicated cabinet.
New work for the exhibition includes a bookwork made for a new Hummingbird Display where eight specimens rotate to flash their iridescence. I documented responses to the Hummingbird Cabinet in the Natural History Museum in London, for example below.
